Blind Dog T-shirt?

Postby schneider on Thu Jun 24, 2010 3:21 pm

People have a habit of automatically wanting to pick up, cuddle, fondle, etc. the cute little 6 lbs dog. But since he is blind, the suddenness and strangeness of these random people can be quite scary. We tell everyone we meet that want to pet him that they should introduce themselves, and if they are picking him up they must say "Buddy, I'm gonna hold you" so that he is prepared. We take him to socialize at Petsmart occassionally and people respond really well.

He has never been a fear-biter, when he is scared he shakes and cowers. But I don't want to put him in stressful situations if I can help it.

I think if he had a t-shirt he could wear that said something about being blind - it wouldn't be such a shock for people and we could avoid some of the scary times more easily. Does anyone know where to get one?

I'm not sure if they have t-shirts, but I know this place has collars, bandanas etc. that say "I'm blind". If they don't have t-shirts you could also buy a regular doggy t-shirt and write on it with fabric paint?
