insulin

My vet called today to inform me that the pharmaceutical company "Lilly" called her to let her know they are going to discontinue making insulin. Evidently this is the most popular insulin used to treat dogs because it works so well and she is not sure what options we will be left with. For those of you out there who use the "Lilly" products you might want to stock up on enough to last you through the expiration dates to give you vet enough time to find an alternative.

I am replying to "Insulin" . I called Lilly company today 7-19-05, and ask could they tell me if lilly was going to stop producing insulin? They told me there were two types they are no longer being manufactured, but Humlin N was not one of them>

I just checked the website for lilly and it is true that they are discontinuing SOME of their insulin products. Humulin N which is the one I use for my diabetic doggie is not one of them. Just a fyi!! Thank goodness.
