My dog has SARDS and exhibited these symptoms-
Extreme thirst before blindness

extreme thirst, extreme apetite, extreme weight gain, congested breathing, panting, lethargy, excessive licking of front paws
Extreme thirst and appetite before blindness - is tapering off some now (also thyroid meds help).
all the above except kidney problems
Had Just Started Lysodren
extreme appetite and weight gain, insomnia, two small red spots on the abdomon that did not itch or hurt, got grumpy and growly
had started Lysodren 4 months before, had taken Rimadyl for a month before
extreme thirst, extreme apetite, extreme weight gain, congested breathing, panting, lethargy, thyroid problem (treated with meds), high blood pressure (treated with meds), tiny growths/bumps on forepaws.
Panting more immediate before and after blindness
increased thirst, extreme appetite, itchy skin
noticed night blindness
no other symptoms except blindness
Skin infection, taking steroids for infection

I have my SARDS dog on a limited diet and we walk 2 miles a day. He is doing great 2 years after diagnosis.
